Water control and clean up during a hydrodemolition project can be a concern to owners, engineers and contractors. Dirty water from the hydrodemolition operation can create an environmental problem if not properly contained. The clean up of slurry and aggregate can be time consuming and labor intensive. Water flowing across live traffic lanes can create a safety hazard. To solve the problem, Rampart has developed low volume, high airflow hydrodemolition removal decks. These decks attached to our super-high CFM vacuum trucks which will contain 95% + of the water used during the hydrodemolition process and vacuum up the remaining solid debris. Vacuuming the water from the hydrodemolition unit eliminates the problem of water leaving the work area and the labor to clean up the debris. Dry hydrodemolition has been successfully used to provide a “pour ready” surface. Once the hydrodemolition has been completed, the super-high CFM vacuum truck will go over the hydrodemolished surface with a specially designed undercarriage vacuum deck containing water jets operating up to 10,000-psi to provide a clean pour ready surface. Rampart has performed dry hydrodemolition in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. |
